Questions?
We’ve got answers!
I don’t have a blog. Can I still come to Gleek Retreat?
Absolutely! Gleek Retreat is for bloggers of all levels! Whether you’re thinking of starting your first blog or you started your blog back when you had to code everything, we’ve got something for you! Gleek Retreat is all about learning from each other!!!
I’m not a blogger, I work in PR/media. Can I still come?
Yes! We would love to have PR reps and media gurus with us to help answer questions and partner with on marketing companies through our blogs. This is a great environment for bloggers and PR/media to come together to build the bridge between blog and business!
Can I come just for the day on Saturday?
Yes. We have two options: the Day Pass and the All Inclusive Pass. If you are only able to attend Saturday’s sessions, then the Day Pass is for you!
What’s the difference between the Day Pass & the All Inclusive Pass?
Both passes will get you access to all sessions and meals during the retreat. The difference is that those with Day Passes will be asked to leave at 9pm, whereas the All Inclusive Passes will enjoy the comfortable accommodations at Into The Woods Retreat. We also have a few special surprises in store for our overnight guests!
I purchased the Day Pass but am looking to stay the night in the Holland area.
Fun! There are some great hotels in the area (both Holland and Grand Haven) and we’d be happy to recommend a few to you! Here’s the catch….May is quite busy for this area so you’ll want to make those hotel reservations very soon! Both, Holland and Grand Haven, are about a 15-20 minute drive from the conference site.
I am coming in from out of town and would like to come Friday night. Is that ok?
Absolutely. Into the Woods has generously opened their doors to us for Friday night for those who would like to come in Friday night. There is an additional cost for a Friday night stay. That will be paid separate from your registration fee. If you are interested in coming in Friday night, please select that option on your registration. There are also a number of nice hotels in the area that we can recommend if you’d rather stay at a hotel!
I’m registered…now what?
Super! We’re so excited to have you at Gleek Retreat! We’ll be sending you more info as we get closer to the conference date. Until then, make sure you subscribe to our RSS feed for updates and you can help spread the word about Gleek Retreat through Twitter (#GleekRetreat12), Facebook and by adding one of our BADGES to your blog!
Can I bring my baby?
If you are breastfeeding your little one and would feel most comfortable bringing him/her with you, please do. We do ask that if your children are older that you leave them in the care of a friend or family member, for the comfort of you and those around you at the conference. Also, please be aware that the accommodations at the retreat center are not conducive for overnight guests other than conference attendees. That means we will not be able to accommodate children or spouses/significant others at the retreat center. Please check our Location page for more information!
I want to purchase the All Inclusive Pass and stay over night, but who will I be rooming with?
The accommodations at Into The Woods includes 5 bedrooms, each with between 2 – 6 twin size beds and a bathroom either connected to it or just next to it. If you know someone coming to Gleek Retreat and would like to be in a room with them, just let us know! Otherwise we’ll find a lovely spot for you in one of our rooms. Please note, these are not private rooms! You will be sharing rooms with other attendees. Because of this, we cannot accommodate children or spouses/significant others. Please check our Location page for more information!
I have a sponsor sending me to Gleek Retreat. Is that ok?
Of course! And yay for you! We love it that people are able to get sponsors to come to Gleek Retreat. We just ask that you also be respectful to our Gleek Retreat sponsors. If you would like more clarification about this, please don’t hesitate to send us an email (gleekretreat@gmail.com). Also, if your sponsor is covering your registration fee, please have them pay the registration for you when you register OR have them reimburse you for the registration. We cannot issue a refund to you if you pay the registration and get a sponsor later. Again, ask if you have questions regarding this!
What should I bring to Gleek Retreat?

I’m on a special diet. What will the meals be like?
We will be happy to accommodate any special dietary needs you might have, as much as we can. Please let us know if you will be needing a vegetarian option for the meals. We will also have access to a full kitchen, if you would like to bring specific food or drink with you.
Is Gleek Retreat for women only?
The simple answer to that is no! We welcome both men and women to Gleek Retreat. Blogging conferences have been primarily designed with women in mind, as they have typically made up the majority of the blogosphere. However, times are a changin’! And we want to embrace that change. If you are guy who is interested in getting a blog started or already have a blog, we’d love to have you.
Now, the more complex answer is that our accommodations are such that 2 – 6 people will be sleeping in a room. So, if you are a guy and are interested in coming to Gleek Retreat, we are happy to offer you a Day Pass and, if you are coming from outside of the West Michigan area, we will help you find some amazing and affordable lodging!
I still have a question, HELP!
Chance are, if you have a question someone else probably has that same question. So, please ask us any question you might have so we can include it and the answer here for others! You can email your questions to us at gleekretreat@gmail.com.
